I work with creative entrepreneurs and I can't tell you how many times I hear "I'm not a numbers person" - the truth is fishing through a spreadsheet filled with formulas isn't my idea of a good time either.

So why when it comes to our business or blog we push away from data? The reality is we can't afford to ignore the data - especially when that data is so easily accessible.

It's easier than ever to get the information you need about your blog and business. With online tools like Google Analytics you can get real time information about who is visiting your site, what they're clicking, how long they've spent on your site and if they are new or past visitors.
If your Instagram page is setup as a business the analytics are a fingertip away. Use this data to best plan your content, figure out what times to share and figure out who you should spend your time engaging the most with.
The best thing is these tools are free and easy to use.
To setup Google Analytics on your site you simply sign up and add it to your site. Then you add the code to your site - it varies by website host.

If the data on your website and social media isn't giving you the answers you'd like consider creating survey or a Facebook poll. I've used these methods to ask specific audience questions and have been able to create content for blog and creative workshops with the information I've received.
